Report: Jho Low confirmed owner of Good Star

Kim Quek: The Reuters’ report states: “None of the investigations across the world into 1MDB have shown any connection between any alleged misappropriation of money linked to 1MDB and the prime minister.”

Not true. Documents of Malaysia’s own investigators viewed by The Wall Street Journal and Sarawak Report show that in March 2013, US$681 million landed in PM Najib Razak’s bank account allegedly sourced from 1MDB after meandering through intermediaries.

Najib received the US$681 million from Tanore Finance (set up by Jho Low’s crony Tan Kim Loong) which received funds via intermediaries from a bogus company named Aabar Investment PJS Limited, which in turn received money from 1MDB, which was diverted from 1MDB’s intended payee, the genuine Aabar Investment PJS.

This sum of US$3.5 billion is now the subject of litigation in London between Aabar Investment PJS and 1MDB.

As for Jho Low being the owner Good Star Ltd, this is actually an old story. It came to public knowledge as early as March 2015 through the explosive article ‘Heist of the century’ by Sarawak Report, which detailed how US$700 million was siphoned from 1MDB to the Jho Low-controlled Good Star right from day one of the bogus 1MDB-PetroSaudi joint venture in September 2009.

In fact, there has been more than enough evidence to nail the culprits. The fact that none has been apprehended in Malaysia despite the unprecedented global scale of these enormous 1MDB financial crimes amply illustrates the breakdown of rule of law in this country.

That many foreign jurisdictions are still actively probing these alleged crimes with some peripheral culprits even being charged in court offers a painful contrast to our law enforcers who have long fallen asleep.

Anonymous 1890491455255851: So can 1MDB and the Ministry of Finance say they didn't know about this?

So the man who claimed publicly that God was on his side when BN won the recent by-elections and that God wanted him to continue to lead the country, decides he will not comment on this news?

The arrogance of his office is unbelievable. To simply not comment as and when troubling news is revealed should not be tolerated. They are duty-bound to answer and to answer with substance.

Maxit: 1MDB transferred money to Aabar in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and to Good Star. Both companies are not owned by International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) and PetroSaudi International.

1MDB says everything is above board. So also say Mohamed Apandi Ali, the AG; and the Public Accounts Committee chief Hasan Arifin.

Now documentary proof says otherwise. So who to believe?

Boeyks: Why was the money sent to entities that have no connection with 1MDB - Aabar BVI and Gold Star?

The interesting part is that the government is also not keen to see where the money has disappeared to. It’s not a small sum that taxpayers will have to make good if this money is not recovered.

Cogito Ergo Sum: The evidence of wrongdoing is piling up slowly but surely.

In fact, now it makes sense why Bank Negara lodged a police report on a leaked document purported to be an official secret.

It's an official secret because it is damning evidence that the 1MDB monies were channelled to an accomplice and not a legitimate business deal.

Anonymous #21828131: Indeed, this is a pathetic state of affairs in a nation that boasts of moderation, fairness, accountability and good religious values, but the reverse is very true.

In spite of the PAC report, why no action by the authorities, be it the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), inspector-general of police (IGP) and the AG? Why the silence?

Why can't the culprits be arrested and investigated? Are we a law-abiding country or is it being run by rabble of pirates?

HaveAGreatDay: It is now an established fact that Jho Low was the sole owner of Good Star. But as far as the Malaysian government is concerned, it makes no difference.

It just means another layer of the deceit surrounding 1MDB has been unmasked. In the meantime, that immoral and unscrupulous leader will sneeringly point out that the rakyat support him.

Jho Low, perhaps you can try Kazakhstan?

Kuasa Rakyat: Apandi and Hasan. Both appointed by Najib. Both said Najib "not guilty". Both appear to have lied.

Notsoshiningarmour: The country has sunk into the deepest depths of crime, when no life is any longer sacred, when cheating is the norm, when corruption is at its peak that we are seen globally as a world leader right at the top of the pinnacle, and when thick-skinned thieves, gangsters and robbers rule the roost and when integrity has become a bad word.

How much longer will these lies persist and how much longer will stupid and brainless people support such tyranny.

Like Sodom and Gomorrah, we shall perish by our own doing. We do not need enemies to do that to us, we have a nation of fools who have succumbed to the ways of this government.
