Anonymous #19098644: Would PAS spiritual adviser Haron Din care to explain why PAS, of which he is the ulama head, was a partner of the party that he calls the enemy of Islam for eight years until they fell out in 2015, when PAS started to suck up to the corrupt Umno regime?

How can an Islamic party befriend a corrupt party?

Ah-hah: The late Nik Aziz Nik Mat, who was PAS spiritual advisor, was good friends with many non-Muslims, be they political allies from the ranks of DAP and PKR to leaders of other religions to NGO leaders and ordinary rakyat.

Were any of them "enemies of Islam" in Haron's eyes? Specifically, what about DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang and the late chairperson Karpal Singh? Did Nik Aziz "become just like them"?

Instead of building bridges, Haron is hell-bent on the opposite. As a result, he is causing an ever widening gulf between his brand of Islam (and the PAS of today) and non-Muslims as well as more fair-minded Muslims.

Aziz Kader: Haron, are you saying those who abuse power and are corrupt are friends of the Muslims and those against power abuse and corruption are enemies of Islam?

Or do you consider all non-Muslims as enemies of Islam? Or those not in favour of PAS' leadership? Former spiritual adviser Nik Aziz was also working with DAP, so do you classify him as an enemy of Islam, too?

It is shocking just how narrow-minded and myopic Haron is showing himself to be.

SWOT Strategist: Malaysia is infested with so many narrow-minded religious bigots and hypocrites. They are truly blinded to even understand the basic human principle of what is right or wrong.

With leaders so glamorously tainted with mega-scale corruption, persistent incompetence, continued abuses, unjust discriminatory actions and cruelty, a noble multiracial party has become the enemy to their Islamic faith.

Jaguh: So all non-Muslims are enemies of Islam? Hello, have you got the right message? No wonder all the poor rural folk in the heartlands are brainwashed by your insidious articles.

Swipenter: In Bolehland, for anyone you like to demonise rightly or wrongly, just brand him or her an "enemy of Islam" or "anti-Islam", "anti-Malay", "traitor to race and religion", etc.

They have nothing else to offer but religious bigotry, religious extremism and racism.

Accountability and honesty are the pillars of all faiths. How can Dr M be against Islam when he points out the deficiencies of Umno?

He is against the excesses of the government which is running the country to the ground. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that.

RKR: Haron, you better find out if those who have RM2.6 billion in their bank accounts and those who had allegedly used peoples' money for shopping, etc, are friends of Islam.

If they are, then you are giving Islam a bad name.

Drngsc: Is Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director-general Mohd Puad Zakarshi a civil servant or politician? Why is he making political comments and bringing God into the equation?

Is he the adviser to God or something like that? Civil servants, you are supposed to serve all Malaysians.

Petemedic: So Puad, going by your logic you are saying that the Muslims who voted for the opposition did not pray at all or hard enough?

Umno is a disgrace to the religion by claiming to be the sole 'protector' of Islam and using God's name to justify its numerous unaccountable wrongdoings.

Rather than DAP and its leader Lim Kit Siang, I empathise more for the Muslims who have been repeatedly insulted and humiliated by these people, for Islam has been degraded downright to its core.

Anonymous 1890491455255851: This is the state of politics in this country. I have lost count of the number of Umno people who invoke the name of God in every possible situation they see fit.

Please stop using God to portray yourselves as somehow the chosen ones. There is no way that corruption and abuse of power can be tolerated by any religion.

Clever Voter: Everything happens for a reason. That doesn't mean God has something to do with it. We all pray but we have to make things happen. God helps those who help themselves.

Praising God for the rotten system is not right. Certainly if God is here, he or she would not condone the acts by individuals who are elected to serve the people, and not themselves.
