Pakatan Harapan will not be taking any "political action" this Saturday, despite its threat last week to do so if Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak does not respond to its three demands by tomorrow.

The demands, issued last Thursday, were for Najib to go on leave, for the cabinet to call for a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into 1MDB, and for an emergency Parliament session be called by July 29.

But on the eve of the deadline, and with no response from Najib, DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke admitted today they had no plan to carry out the "political action" they had threatened.

"There's no immediate action this Saturday but we are still considering other options in the coming months," Loke told Malaysiakini when contacted on this matter.

He said that mobilising the people for a rally was one of the options being considered, but stressed that no decision has been made yet.

In a joint statement last Thursday, the Pakatan Harapan presidential council said it would mobilise the people in a "political action" on July 30 to register their protest against Najib if he did not fulfil its demands.

This came after the DOJ announced that it is seeking to seize US$1 billion in assets that were allegedly acquired using funds misappropriated from 1MDB.
