Kayong murder suspect charged with murder bid of tuai rumah

Police have identified four suspects in connection with the alleged attack on Tuai Rumah Jambai Jali and his wife, allegedly over a dispute on Native Customary Right (NCR) land in Bekelilit, Bekenu in Miri on Nov 26 last year.

Sarawak Criminal Investigation head SAC Dev Kumar said three suspects had been detained and one of them, Mohamad Fitri Fauzi ,29, was also implicated in the murder of Miri PKR secretary Bill Kayong and was recently charged with the offence in the Magistrate’s Court in Miri last July 15.

The other two suspects are Tu Kah Chiong, 27, and Raymond Sim Yeat Choon, 23, while another is still at large, he told reporters in Miri today.

Police identified the suspect as Kong Ching Bing @ Ah Kiang, 26, with addresses at Lot 2042, Phase 2, Desa Bahagia Miri and Sungai Bidut in Sibu.

The suspects allegedly assaulted Jambai and his wife with a samurai sword and baseball bat at Jalan Pujut-Miri.

The three suspects were today charged in the Sessions Court in Miri with the attempted murder on Jambai and his wife.

They were also charged with committing mischief.

However, all pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out to them before Judge Steve Ritikos, who then set Nov 14 to 15 and Dec 5 to 9 to hear the case.
