The Ampang Magistrate’s Court near Kuala Lumpur set Oct 12 for mention of a man charged with supporting terrorist activities involving the use of explosives last June.
Magistrate Haslinda A Raof set the date after deputy public prosecutor Goh Ai Rene informed the court that the prosecution had yet to receive the permission to transfer Mohd Asrol Mohamad’s case to the High Court.
On July 25, 29-year-old Mohd Asrol was charged with committing the offence by propagating an ideology with the intent to threaten the public in Malaysia.

The charge under Section 130J (1)(b) of the Penal Code provides for imprisonment for life or imprisonment for a maximum of 30 years, or a fine and may be deprived of any property which were used or intended to be used to commit the offence, if convicted.
