Another incident at Sultan Aminah Hospital

Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) encountered another incident after a short circuit in its operating theatre caused three nurses being treated for smoke inhalation.

Following this latest mishap, Health Minister S Subramaniam said the hospital's electrical system will be inspected.

Soldiers were deployed to clean up an earlier fire at the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) the day before where six patients were killed.

Meanwhile, Senai state assemblyperson Wong Shu Qi urged Medivest Sdn Bhd, which is in charge of the hospital's maintenance, to release its records in the interest of transparency.

Rosmah's sarcasm

Rizal Mansor, aide to prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor, criticised Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik as "naive" for not understanding sarcasm.

This was after Ng claimed Rosmah admitted that she is the wife of ‘Malaysian Official 1’ (MO1) when he asked her about the matter.

Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin questioned why several protesters at the previous Bersih 4 rally had targeted Rosmah, stating that she had not stolen public funds.

Meanwhile, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia student Asheeq Ali will be facing disciplinary action for participating in the TangkapMO1 rally in August.

Pest control

Patrons expressed concern about cleanliness after a rat was found among freshly-based bread of Komugi's branch in a major shopping mall.

Mid Valley Megamall's management apologised for the incident and announced that it will step up pest control measures.
