Ah Long set fire to motorbike, stabbed man over RM2k debt

Police are on the hunt for three loan sharks who robbed a family, set fire to a motorcycle and stabbed a man, all over a RM2,000 debt.

Bernama reported the incident happened in Sungai Mati, Tangkak, Johor, in the early hours of last Saturday.

Tangkak police chief Mohad Idris Samsuri said the three men confronted the complainant, a 23-year-old woman, outside her house, demanding that she pays RM2,000 owed to them.

"When she ignored their threats, the suspects set fire to a motorcycle parked in front of the house," Mohad was quoted as saying.

When the victim's 46-year-old father confronted the men, he was stabbed with a sharp weapon, believed to be a knife.

"The suspects then stormed into the house and seized jewellery, a mobile phone and RM4,000 in cash before fleeing the scene," he said, adding that the victim's father was then rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Investigations revealed the complainant's brother had borrowed RM2,000 from the suspects and fled after failing to settle the debt.

Police have identified two of the suspects and are trying to track down the third.

Mohad said police are also looking for Ker Chian Hau, 25, and Vincent Jauy Joo Sen 24, who are friends of the victim's brother, to assist in investigations.

Those with information on the two men are urged to contact their nearest police station.
