Deputy Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman's son will be charged tomorrow for allegedly rioting in Parliament last November.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Amar Singh said Firdaus Tajuddin would be charged together with seven others.

The eight, including three women, are aged between 33 and 55.

"They will be charged under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting," Amar was reported as saying by the Star Online.

The Nov 24 incident saw a group of people claiming to be from Pasir Salak attacking Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad as he arrived in Parliament.

The assailants were upset with Khalid for using the word "sial" to describe Tajuddin, who is also the Pasir Salak MP, during a debate in the Dewan Rakyat.

At the time, Khalid and Tajuddin, who is the deputy agriculture minister, were embroiled in an argument after the latter described Seputeh MP Teresa Kok as the "only woman with a 'Kok' in Seputeh".

After the assault, 11 people were arrested to assist investigations, including Tajuddin's son.
