PKR lawmaker R Sivarasa is still in the midst of preparing a letter for Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to explain his speech at a mosque.

"I will be writting soon. It is in the preparation," he said when met at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

However, the Subang MP declined to reveal the details of his letter.

Sultan Sharafuddin had instructed the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) to take action against the An Nur Mosque in Kampung Melayu Subang following Sivarasa delivering a speech and distributing RM71,000 in aid last Wednesday.

Following this, Sivarasa said he would pen a letter to the sultan to explain the matter.

Meanwhile, the PKR leader also criticised Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor for insisting that Sivarasa made a political speech at the mosque.

"Ku Nan (Tengku Adnan) still wants to repeat a wrong statement that I made a political statement, I have explained this. He knows that he was repeating a wrong statement," he said.

Sivarasa also declined to say whether he would apologise to the ruler in his letter.

"The contents of my private letter are private. It's not proper for me to disclose," he said.

Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali reiterated that lawmakers should refrain from organising events at the prayer hall of mosques.

"The lawmakers can meet the Muslim community at a mosque, but if they want to organise an event or deliver a speech, they should hold it outside," he added.

"I have advised all leaders to abide by the provisions and guidelines set by Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), because the mosque is the most sacred area for Muslims," he said.

Asked whether the party would initiate a disciplinary action against Sivarasa, Azmin replied that he had already advised the Subang MP.

On another matter, the PKR deputy president said Pakatan Harapan will discuss on the possibility of naming former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the coalition's designated prime minister if it wins the next general election.

In a Facebook live session yesterday, Mahathir admitted that he might be forced to consider becoming prime minister again - if Harapan has such a plan for him.

"I cannot ignore my friends in the Pakatan Harapan coalition. If they have such a plan and it is agreed upon, I may be forced to consider," he had said.
