Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth T-shirts were distributed for free amongst alleged agent provocateurs prior to the "Nothing to Hide 2" event in Shah Alam today, claimed Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman.

Syed Saddiq said the intent was for them to slip into the function, organised by Bersatu Youth, and cause harm to party chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"There was a systematic element of sabotage... We believe it was meant to sabotage this program and hurt Mahathir.

"From initial police investigations, they wore Armada T-shirts," he told a press conference after order was restored at the function.

Armada is the official name for Bersatu Youth.

Piles of red T-shirts, allegedly worn by the provocateurs, were put on display during the press conference.

"Why do we say that? Because when they ran they took off the Armada shirts," added Syed Saddiq.

Earlier, police escorted two suspects from a VIP holding room at the Dewan Raja Muda Musa, where the event took place.

The two were wearing Bersatu Youth T-shirts.

Police later said three suspects aged between 17 and 19 had been arrested.

Syed Saddiq thanked DAP man

Syed Saddiq also thanked DAP volunteer Daniel Low for helping to maintain order during the fracas.

"I want to thank DAP, one of its volunteer, during the scuffle between Malays, this noble person did not run away or stand and watch.

"He saw people fell and he helped them up and was hit by a chair on his head," he said.

Syed Saddiq said he was unaware if any Bersatu members were involved in the fighting or had taken the law into their own hands by attacking the alleged troublemakers.

However, he said if they were, then the police should also take action against them.

The event, which started at 3pm, descended into chaos at around 5.30pm when Mahathir was addressing the crowd.

When Mahathir was responding to a question about the 1985 Memali tragedy in Baling, slippers were hurled at his direction.

This was followed by several other objects including bottles, chairs and a flare.

However, none of the items landed on Mahathir as security personnel rushed to protect him.

Sporadic fighting then ensued as Bersatu supporters attempted to confront the suspected provocateurs, which eventually spilled out of the hall.

Meanwhile, Bersatu youth exco member Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim said Mahathir was unperturbed by the fighting.

"I apologised to him, but he said 'It's okay. Continue the struggle for the country," Mohd Ashraf said.
