MACC chief: We are impartial, raid on S'gor entities not a ploy
MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad has maintained that his unit is impartial, denying allegations that its raid on entities linked to the PKR-led Selangor government was “planned” and politically-influenced.

MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad has maintained that his unit is impartial, denying allegations that its raid on entities linked to the PKR-led Selangor government was “planned” and politically-influenced.
The Selangor menteri besar's office had made those claims after four state entities were raided yesterday including state-owned University Selangor (Unisel), Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) and Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd.
“We do not pick sides, we will investigate who so ever. When a report is made and we find it to have basis, we will take action.
“And of course we have to susun (schedule) our actions, we take action when the right time comes but we can’t tell anyone,” he told a press conference at the launch of MACC’s first ever theatre production “Bahara Emas” at Istana Budaya today.
MACC's actions are believed to be based on a report lodged against Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali and MBI over a dispute between Unisel and Jana Niaga.
Jana Niaga allegedly received monetary compensation despite failing to fulfill its contract with Unisel. MBI has claimed however that the payment to Jana Niaga was made following court arbitration. It also threatened to sue anyone who accused it of corruption relating to the payment.
In response to the raids, Azmin’s office had urged MACC to act professionally in the face of “political pressure”.
It also stressed that Azmin was not personally involved in any disputes linked to the raid but vowed his office would co-operate with investigations.
