The family members of a fatal highway accident victim, Chua Wei Kit, 41, have urged witnesses to come forward to assist investigations.

The incident took place around 6.20am on Sept 5, while Wei Kit (photo) was travelling on his motorcycle towards Singapore on the Second Link Highway.

His brother, Wei Min, said as of last week, no witness has approached the police with evidence.

"The investigating officer advised us to do what we can to reach out to witnesses," Wei Min told Malaysiakini today.

Those with relevant information should approach the Gelang Patah police station immediately, he said.

At present, the investigating team has not been able to piece together the cause of the accident, Wei Min said.

"Our family only found out when the people from funeral service companies came to our house. By that time, our brother was already taken to the Kulai morgue," he said.

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, a female motorcyclist was also found dead at the scene.

Wei Min said that police also could not confirm the account that was reported by the daily.
