Sentul police chief R Munusamy urged those in the know about a MIC branch leader who allegedly solicited sex from teenagers to lodge a police report.

Munusamy said he was alerted by MIC treasurer-general S Vell Paari on the matter but called for a police report so that investigations can be initiated, according to the New Straits Times.

"He (Vell Paari) called me from India yesterday and shared about the individual... I urge him or anyone to lodge a police report first so the police can open an investigation," Munusamy was quoted as saying.

The implicated MIC leader quit his post after his telephone conversation with a woman was circulated on social media.

In the telephone conversation, he promised to seek employment for the woman's teenage daughter if the girl slept with him.

"Please tell me the timing and where, and how long the session can last. If she's not interested, please tell me, I will drop this offer, as there are a lot of other girls waiting," the MIC branch leader had said.
