Zahid: M'sia to extradite six drug trafficking suspects arrested in HK

Malaysia will be exercising its Mutual Legal Assistance agreement with China to extradite six Malaysians reportedly arrested in Hong Kong Airport last Thursday while attempting to carry nearly HK$4 million (RM2 million) worth of ketamine into the city.

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told reporters that Malaysian police will be working with their counterparts in Hong Kong to facilitate the return of the six suspects.

"Cooperation between PDRM and Hong Kong police will be translated through their repatriation, after the individuals have been handed over by the Hong Kong customs department to the police.

"The PDRM's narcotics department will investigate (them) and prepare investigation papers to be handed over to the Attorney-General's Chambers for charges under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act or other relevant provision," Zahid told a press conference after officiating Selangor Umno's convention at the party's headquarters...
