PKR has warned Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak not to "pull another 1MDB” on the forensic audit on the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) following a dubious land transfer.

The party’s communications director Fahmi Fadzil (photo) was referring to the government's decision to classify the auditor-general's report on 1MDB under the Official Secrets Act 1972.

"I urge Najib to promise that he will not use the OSA to block any parts of the forensic audit report from being published, as we saw happened with the auditor-general's report on 1MDB.

"It is of utmost importance that the forensic report be published in full so as to restore confidence in Felda," he said.

In December last year, Berita Harian broke the story about a dubious transfer of state-owned Felda's prime land along Jalan Semarak in Kuala Lumpur to Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd.

The company had allegedly exercised the power of attorney granted to it to transfer the land without the knowledge of Felda's board.

It had since returned the land to Felda following a public outcry.

PKR vice president Rafizi Ramli had previously questioned whether Najib was responsible for granting power of attorney to the company, given that Felda falls under the Prime Minister's Department.

Yesterday, Felda chairperson Shahrir Abdul Samad stressed that Najib was not involved in the land transfer.

But Fahmi, in his statement today, questioned who then in Felda was responsible for the dubious land transfer, stressing that this must be made clear in the forensic audit.

The forensic audit was ordered by the Prime Minister's Office.
