Prime Minister Najib Razak has committed at least 62 mistakes since he assumed office in 2009, claimed Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"I had (first) listed his wrongdoings and found 60 of them. But now, the list has increased to 62 wrongdoings," he claimed, when launching Harapan's manifesto yesterday.

The latest mistake, said Mahathir, was the seizure of the superyacht Equanimity linked to tycoon Jho Low.

On Feb 21, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sought Indonesian authorities to raid the yacht.

After tracking the yacht for eight days, a joint team comprising Indonesian central police, FBI officers and marine police seized the vessel in Benoa, Bali, last week.

Attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali in response said last Thursday the Malaysian government would not claim the vessel from the Indonesian authorities because it does not belong to the Malaysian government.

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) claims that Low had commissioned the Equanimity to be built at an estimated US$250 million (RM1 billion), using money allegedly misappropriated from 1MDB.

The department believes that at least US$4.5 billion has been misappropriated from 1MDB by Malaysian government officials among others, and is looking to recover approximately US$1.7 billion in assets allegedly acquired in the US using these stolen funds.

Mahathir, who is also Bersatu chairperson, claimed Najib had done the country such huge damage that the latter could not continue with the government's Vision 2020 target of being a developed nation.

Najib instead relied on 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) and other forms of 'dedak' (handouts) when formulating his policies, he said.

Mahathir said some of the rakyat have been stuffed with these handouts to the point they see nothing, hear nothing and speak nothing.
