GE14 | In his message to early voters, caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak urged members of the security forces and their spouses to cast their ballots based on facts, achievements and contributions.

He noted that the BN manifesto reflected how the caretaker government always prioritised their welfare and well-being.

“This includes providing 45,000 housing units for the armed forces by 2030, 10,000 units of SASar homes, 10,000 units of PPA1M homes for the police and increasing the Haj quota for retired personnel.

“The opposition, apart from belittling the functions and responsibilities of civil servants, including members of the security forces, also plans to reduce the number of civil servants.

“Penang Institute, for example, said Malaysia only needed 430,000 civil servants. This means, there is a huge probability that of the 1.6 million civil servants, 1.2 million would lose their livelihood.

“This party and elected representatives must be rejected. The fact is, 'Harapan' (hope) is actually with BN,” he added, taking a swipe at the opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan.

Najib urged the early voters, who would be casting their ballots tomorrow, not to make a decision based on incitement.

Recalling the incursion in Lahad Datu, the caretaker prime minister said he still remembered the anguish of the families whose loved ones perished in battle protecting the nation's sovereignty.

However, he said, the opposition mocked this sacrifice and even claimed the incident was a charade.

Najib accused the opposition of not appreciating the contributions and sacrifices of those in the security forces.

“The government has never stopped, restricted or ordered you on how you should discharge your responsibilities in a system of parliamentary democracy.

“Choose stability, choose success and choose prosperity. Choose #HebatkanNegaraku,” he said.
