Newly appointed Pakatan Harapan cabinet ministers who were previously barred from Sarawak can now enter the state freely.
This comes as the state reportedly lifted its entry ban on Harapan leaders who are now cabinet ministers.
“It is true that the state government through the Chief Minister’s Office has allowed for all federal ministers to enter Sarawak.
“I received the instruction yesterday (Tuesday) and the lifting of the entry ban will be carried out as soon as possible,” Sarawak Immigration Department director Ken Leben (above) said, as reported by The Borneo Post today.
He was responding to whether Harapan cabinet ministers who were previously blacklisted by the state immigration would be allowed into the state.
While he confirmed the lifting of the ban, he reportedly did not disclose further details about it.
Previous cabinet ministers of the new Harapan federal government who had been barred from Sarawak include Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu, Transport Minister Anthony Loke and Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.
