Former attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali has resigned from Tabung Haji's board of directors.

According to Tabung Haji in a press statement today, Apandi resigned on June 4.

Meanwhile, the pilgrimage fund said Umno Hulu Bernam assemblyperson Rosni Sohar had also resigned earlier on May 23.

Apandi had been appointed as a Tabung Haji director in Jan 2016.

The fund's former chairperson Azeez Abdul Rahim had previously said that the board had selected Apandi as they wanted someone with a legal background.

He also said that Apandi did not receive any salary as a director.
