Former ministers Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Mahdzir Khalid have secured two of the three Umno vice-president posts up for grabs in the party elections. 

At a midnight press conference, Umno incumbent secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the final spot remains a contest between former minister Johari Abdul Ghani and former Johor menteri besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Results for the final spot are expected to be announced tomorrow.

Ismail bagged 146 divisions, while Mahdzir secured 99.

A candidate must win at least 96 division votes in order to win.

Besides the four, others who contested the vice-presidencies were former deputy minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, former Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Said, and Gua Musang Umno committee member Sheikh Razali Sheikh Hamad.
