Siti Aishah to be appointed special advisor to Perak MB soon

Perak PKR information chief Senator Siti Aishah Shaik Ismail will be appointed as a special advisor to the menteri besar with the rank of a state executive councillor.

Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said Siti Aishah’s appointment would come into force in the near future and she had been duly informed.

“Siti Aishah’s appointment is not based on any pressure by anyone as from early on we have intended to give her an important role. I personally talked to her (Siti Aishah) and she agreed to this appointment.

“She will act as a special advisor to assist on issues related to youth in Perak,” he told reporters after attending the Bersatu Sungai Siput division's Aidilfitri open house yesterday.

Previously, Siti Aishah was reported to be nominated by PKR for the state legislative assembly speaker's post, before she withdrew and the post went to Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham from DAP, who was appointed by consensus.

In another development, Ahmad Faizal said the appointment of committee members of city councils and municipalities as well as district councils would be carried out by next week at the latest, though the appointment of the village heads would take more time to avoid any future problems.

The Aidilfitri event was also attended by Education Minister Maszlee Malik and more than 200 Bersatu members.
