Perak state Education, Science, Environment, Green Technology and Information Committee chairperson Prof Abdul Aziz Bari has expressed his regret over the action of the Taiping Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) of not allowing him to visit the school this morning.
Abdul Aziz said although MRSM was not under the purview of the state government, as a member of executive council who was in charge of the education portfolio, he wanted to get more information about the recent food poisoning incident at the school.
“I cannot do anything, I would like to apologise to all media personnel (who are also not allowed to enter the school).
“I have informed the Taiping MRSM (management) about this visit. They should know the standard operating procedures,” he told reporters outside the Taiping MRSM in Taiping today.
In the incident last Wednesday, a total of 31 students of the Taiping MRSM were rushed to the Taiping Hospital after complaining of stomach ache, nausea and vomiting.
