Batu MP denies RM25m offer to vacate seat for Anwar

Batu MP P Prabakaran today denied claims that he was offered RM25 million to vacate his seat to make way for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.

“I think it is fake, false statement, I can't comment on rumours,” he said when approached by reporters at the Parliament lobby.

Prabakaran was asked to comment on fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin claiming that there were rumours to the effect.

Prior to this, Selayang MP William Leong had announced that he was willing to vacate his seat for Anwar.

In 14th general election, the 22-year-old Prabakaran, who stood as an independent, created history by becoming the youngest candidate to win a parliamentary seat. He won by a majority of 24,438 votes.

His challengers were Dominic Lau of BN, Azhar Yahya of PAS and independent VM Panjamothy.
