Who signed Saudi prince's letter; pick loyal leaders, Anwar tells PKR members

KINI ROUNDUP | Here are the key headlines you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

Poser on who signed 'Saudi prince's letter'

A report claimed that investigators had looked into the documents former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak proffered as proof that he had received funds from the Saudi royal family, but found that it was actually signed by a man named Mohammad Abdullah Al-Koman, who claimed to be a representative of Prince Abdulaziz Majid Al-Saud.

However, Najib said employees can sign letters on their employer’s behalf in the business world.

Anwar tells party to pick loyal leaders

PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim has told members to vote for leaders who are still loyal to the party’s ideals and questioned those who disputed his decision to contest the Port Dickson by-election.

Meanwhile, former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin urged his party to challenge Anwar at the by-election even though Umno is not likely to win, in order to deny Anwar a “coronation”.

Electoral reform group Bersih said the Port Dickson by-election highlights the problems of the first-past-the-post electoral system’s opaque candidate selection process.
