DAP's 'Hulk' blames 'Umno man' for turning him green with anger

Malacca exco member Norhizam Hassan Baktee, who claims to transform into the “Hulk” when his constituents are bullied, has blamed an “Umno branch leader” for lighting his fuse, which he admits is short.

"I have to admit that I am short-tempered, and the man knew that and how to provoke me," he had said in response to a viral video showing him in a heated argument with a group of residents from Taman Akasia.

“I am not a sissy and wouldn't kowtow to tactics used by my foes to paint a negative picture that I'm a rowdy and loudmouth leader," he told The Star when met in Malacca.

According to Norhizam, who is the DAP state assemblyperson for Pengkalan Batu, the person who bombarded him with questions during yesterday's dialogue session was an Umno branch leader from his constituency.

He claimed the man, who works with a local council, wanted to tarnish his reputation and was the first to spread the video, which courted flak from netizens.

However, Norhizam said he was unfazed by the criticism, arguing that netizens were unaware of the problems he faced to resolve issues.

This, he added, included facing those with the mindset that DAP is an opposition party.

Furthermore, Norhizam said he is accountable to his constituents, Malacca Chief Minister Adly Zahari and DAP leaders.

Meanwhile, the Star report also stated that Md Derus Tompang from Kampung Nibong whom Norhizam blamed for the incident denied that he was an Umno member.

In a statement earlier, Norhizan said only a portion of what transpired during the dialogue was spread on social media.

“The part which was spread cast me in a negative light, but the part where I praised, supported and helped the villagers was not shown.

“But it's okay, I accept because I know it is human nature to find fault instead of showing the good side (of a person),” he added.

The dialogue session concerned the closure of a road between Taman Akasia and Taman Kerjasama in Bukit Bukit Beruang.
