MyEG Services Bhd today clarified that it has no knowledge of Mastoro Kenny IT Consultant & Services Sdn Bhd, the company alleged by MACC to have paid off former home minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to secure a project with the former.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, MyEG and its board said both "have no knowledge of the company named in the charges against Zahid".

The company said it had never been in contact or had dealings with Mastoro or its representatives and had never awarded it any projects.

MyEG added that it had no knowledge of Mastoro's dealings with Zahid nor had it ever appointed any vendors or contractors in its dealings with the home ministry.

MyEG share price took a hit today, dropping 37 sen after its name cropped up in the charge sheets against Zahid.

Three of the charges against Zahid allege that Mastoro Kenny had given him 24 cheques totalling RM13.25 million between July 15, 2016, and Feb 8, 2017 to secure a MyEG project.

It is not clear what project the MACC believes the company had tried to get by allegedly paying off Zahid.

Minimal details are available about Mastoro Kenny in the public domain.

However, a check by Malaysiakini revealed that its owner M Kumaraguru, 46, had been charged with money laundering in a separate case in March this year.

MyEG is a payment portal for government services.
