Felda students in Negeri Sembilan to get RM100 special aid

The RM100 special schooling aid announced for 15,000 students from Felda estates in Negeri Sembilan last Wednesday will be handed out latest by the first week of school.

Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun said the aid would also include the children of second-generation Felda settlers staying in boarding schools, but it required the prior approval of Felda.

"We are very concerned with the fate of Felda settlers who have yet to receive living allowances and hope this assistance will help ease their burden, especially in terms of preparing for the upcoming schooling session.

"So today we have handed over the assistance to 202 recipients and the rest will be completed before schooling begins or at the latest, the first week of school," he told reporters after handing over the aid in Jempol today.

Also present were State Urban Wellbeing, Local Government, Housing and New Villages Committee chairperson Teo Kok Seong, State Education Department deputy director Maznah Abu Bakar and Felda deputy director-general Anuar Malek.

Aminuddin said the special schooling aid was only given to children living in Felda settlements as well as genuine cases.
