76 illegal immigrants working in a club nabbed

Police raided a club at Jalan P Ramlee early today and detained 76 illegal immigrants, including two men for various offences.

City Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) chief DSP Rohazah Alwi said the team comprising 28 enforcers from the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters also confiscated two receipts and screened 60 male customers at the club in the operation from 11pm to 2am.

“Those detained were nationals of the Philippines, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Bangladesh.

“Investigations found that all of them had misused passes by working as guest relation officers (GRO) and had no valid travel documents,” he said in a statement.
