Two people died and 41 people have been reported missing in a landslide in Sukabumi, West Java.
“Search-and-rescue operations are still being conducted for the missing victims,” said head of the Data, Information and Community Relations Centre of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Sutopo Purwo Nugroho.
In the incident at 5.30pm yesterday, 30 houses in a village, Dusun Garehong Desa Sirnaresmi Kecamatan Cisolok Kabupaten Sukabumi, Jawa Barat, were buried in the landslide.
“According to BNPB data, two people have been confirmed killed, three injured and 61 people placed at the temporary evacuation centre,” he said.
