Flammable 'fireproof' suits being probed

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed that it is investigating the supply of "unsafe" fireproof clothing to the Fire and Rescue Department in the country, which turned out to be made of flammable polyester.

In response to reports that firefighters had to share protective clothing or resort to old, worn-out ones, Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamarudin said a tender for new gear for the firefighters would be put up next month.

Najib to hit Cameron Highlands campaign trail

Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa said by popular demand, the party’s former president Najib Abdul Razak would join the Cameron Highlands by-election campaign.
