No political interference from Harapan, says Petronas integrity chief
There has been no political interference in Petronas since the change of government last year, said its chief integrity officer Rohaizad Yaacob.
"I haven't seen any political interference in Petronas so far since the new government (took over). I was there since before the transfer of government and there is not much (interference) there," Rohaizad said when met at a forum on transparency and conflict of interest today.
He was one of the panelists speaking at the forum, held during a conference on Conflict of Interest organised by Center to Combat Corruption and Cronyism (C4) in Kuala Lumpur.

Rohaizad, who is a senior MACC officer seconded to Petronas since April last year, said there had been no political appointments in the management of the state-owned oil and gas corporation.
He said the management body had been very professional in helming the corporation to ensure that it would continue to strive and generate revenue for the country.
Petronas management leaders, he added, place their focus on growing the business.
"In terms of the management, there are no political appointees, as far as I am concerned.
"Maybe the board, that I wouldn't know. But what I have seen from Petronas, they are very professional in their work."
Rohaizad said Petronas had stopped giving out political donations since last year so as to not give the impression they are aligned to any political party.
This was done before the general election, according to Rohaizad.
However, he explained, Petronas still channel donations through their corporate social responsibility programmes.
According to Rohaizad, Petronas CSR projects include cooperation with state governments, but without allowing political elements to seep into its projects.
"For example in Sabah we have our own committee with the government. What do you want us to assist? You want us to build a school? We build a school, but we don’t want to talk about where the school is. We will build a school for you. that is what Petronas does.”
“We don't give money. You want to build a mosque, we will build for you. Petronas doesn't give money for you to build, no way," he explained.
