Perak MB dismisses rumours that his replacement will be sworn in soon

Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu today advised “hidden hands” to stop spreading rumours of political conflict in the state.

Instead, he asked them to use their creativity to circulate matters encouraging the development of the state.

Ahmad Faizal, who is the state assemblyperson for Chenderiang, was commenting on viral messages alleging that a new menteri besar will be sworn in this afternoon.

“These people should not waste previous time circulating useless messages. This is unhealthy and does not benefit anyone.”

"They should not indulge in wasteful endeavours,” he told reporters after launching the 101st athletics meet of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Anderson in Ipoh.

Over the past week, messages have been circulating on WhatsApp that the Pakatan Harapan government in Perak will fall, paving the way for state elections.

Ahmad Faizal also hit out at Perak BN chairperson Saarani Mohamad for allegedly saying that a state executive councillor wants to oust the menteri besar.

“Saarani has much time on his hands. He is keen to topple the state government. After that, Harapan will react and topple the BN (government). It will be a never-ending story,” he said.

Ahmad Faizal advised Umno and PAS to be good opposition parties and work with the government for the sake of the people.
