Osman Sapian said his resignation as Johor menteri besar is not yet official.

"Technically, I'm still the menteri besar," he told reporters at a function in Johor Bahru today.

"Wait for (more details after) the Johor ruler grants me an audience (tomorrow)."

Osman had written to letters stating his wish to resign as menteri besar.

One was meant for his party chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad, while the other was for the Johor palace.

Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar was abroad when news of Osman's resignation broke.

Osman added that he is also still technically the leader of Johor Bersatu and Johor Pakatan Harapan.

The four Johor Harapan component parties have unanimously decided that Bersatu should nominate a candidate for Osman's replacement.

So far, the four shortlisted by Bersatu for the job are Dr Shahruddin Jamal (Bukit Kepong assemblyperson), Mazlan Bujang (Puteri Wangsa), Mohd Izhar Ahmad (Larkin), and Mohd Solihan Badri (Tenang).
