'When accusing BN of failing Sabah, Shafie is pointing finger at Dr M'

KIMANIS POLLS | Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal has constantly urged Sabahans to vote out Peninsula-based BN and Umno in the Jan 18 Kimanis parliamentary by-election as BN had failed to develop Sabah during its rule.

However, former foreign affairs minister Anifah Aman (above) said in doing so, Shafie is pointing his finger at Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He said Mahathir had ruled the country for 22 years in his first stint as prime minister.

"Who was at the helm for 22 years?" he told a press conference at the BN command centre in Kimanis today.

He, however, declined to elaborate what were the harms done by Mahathir in Sabah during that time. 

The former Kimanis parliamentarian today made a public appearance at the BN command centre to show support for the party's candidate Mohamad Alamin.

He will speak at BN's ceramah stage tonight at the Seladan polling district in Kimanis.

Anifah, who quit Umno in September 2018, said he came out to support BN as he rejects the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) which is going to be implemented in June.

"I am not willing to gamble on the future of our children," he said.

"To uphold the rights of the children of Sabah, I will support and work together with Umno and BN to save my offsprings," he said.

Anifah said he was not convinced when the government pledged that the PSS holders will not be granted citizenship and that the government would not issue more than 136,000 PSS cards to migrants who currently hold IMM13, Burung-burung cards and census certificates.
