Najib: Rosmah wasn't scolding me, it was a normal chat

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak said the audio clips released by the MACC today did not depict him being "scolded" by his wife Rosmah Mansor.

"Scolded? There was no scolding. Conversations between my wife and I are private. You talk to your wife too right? What's wrong about it?

"It is the right of every citizen to discuss anything, as long as (spouses) do it in private.

"(Spouses) discussing whatever happens in everyday affairs is a normal thing," he said when met at the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.

Najib did not explicitly confirm or deny the authenticity of the audio clip which allegedly depicted an irate Rosmah "advising" him. 

The person who sounded like Rosmah in the audio clip also claimed that she and Najib were being portrayed as "villains" and made suggestions on how to deal with Emirates royal family associate Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

At one point, the person who sounded like Rosmah said: "Darling, you are the prime minister. You should take charge, not anybody else."

When a reporter suggested that Rosmah appeared to be "advising" Najib in the audio clip, the former prime minister said she was free to do so.

"Everyone can air their views (to me). No problem. But I am the one who decides," said Najib.
