Covid-19: Gov't sets up funds for victims, calls for donation
Flabber Pro: I think I share the sentiments of many Malaysians. Why not ask former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (Ku Nan) to cough out RM2 million? Then you can save the lives of many Malaysians.
And with that, Ku Nan may vindicate himself. After all, RM2 million is only small change to him.
I may be wrong, but for cabinet members to take a five to 10 percent pay cut out of the right hand, but what would the left hand be found doing?
Again, in the court of public opinion, none in Perikatan Nasional (PN) can be trusted with integrity and legitimacy.
I am sorry, I really want to help the Covid-19 victims, but not through the PN government. I do not have that trust. It is broken beyond repair.

Malaysiansatay: Here is my humble suggestion:
1. All the MPs who came together to form the new government, please donate RM1,000 each to show to the people that you are there for the people.
2. All our newly-minted ministers and deputy ministers, please donate 20 percent of your monthly salary for as long as Malaysia is faced with the Covid-19 virus. I am sure the ministers and their deputies want to show that they are there for the people.
3. To Tengku Adnan, since RM2 million is pocket change for you, I am sure donating some of that money will do you no harm and it will pretty sure improve your standing with the people.
4. To former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, I am sure you can show some grace by doing your part by now donating instead of receiving donations.
Additionally, since you are no longer PM, I am sure you don’t have to buy souvenirs for foreign dignitaries. So, monies allocated to such things can be donated to the people.
Also, since you (at the moment) can’t really go for holidays, you don’t have to buy presents for your lovely wife. The money saved can be used to buy presents for the people.
5. To Umno leader Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, since you are much into running foundations for the underprivileged, I am sure you can allocate some funds to this Covid-19 fund.
2cent: Indeed, Najib could help by getting some donations from the Saudi king. Tengku Adnan can easily match what the government has set aside. After all, RM2 million is just pocket money for him.
If the late Umno leader Jamaluddin Jarjis was worth more than RM2 billion, I'm sure the government could easily raise billions of ringgit by passing the hat around at the Umno supreme council and among the party’s divisional leaders.
Ipoh PP: For a start, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin can lead the way. Ask your ministers and deputy ministers to donate their first month's salary.

MW: Muhyiddin should have announced cabinet salary cuts before setting up a Covid-19 fund and give the cuts to the fund.
As it is, you announce the setting up of a fund and only mentioned your cabinet is willing to take salary cuts when asked by a reporter, so it was a PR (public relation) answer, not a firm commitment.
You could have scored some points immediately. Instead, you want rakyat to contribute while your cabinet "will consider" and is "ready to" only after a reporter asked.
