Covid-19 cases near 200 and six news from yesterday

1. Thirty-nine new cases of Covid-19 was reported yesterday, bringing the total to 197.

2. The deadly virus caused stock markets to crash, with Bursa Malaysia closing down 5.26 percent. Fuel prices are also lower due to the pandemic coupled with a price war, bringing down global oil prices.

3. Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan joined the chorus of party leaders dissatisfied with the number of ministers and the cabinet posts given to the biggest party in the ruling Perikatan Nasional government.

4. The Defence Ministry's internal investigations into alleged corruption involving its past deals will be continued by the new administration, said Ismail Sabri.
