Penang CM to join NSC special meeting on Covid-19
The Penang government has been invited to the National Security Council Special Meeting on the management of Covid-19 in Putrajaya.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he received the invitation yesterday from Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali.

The Penang government has been invited to the National Security Council Special Meeting on the management of the Covid-19 outbreak in Putrajaya.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he received the invitation yesterday from Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali.
He said he would be raising four questions at the meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin at 3pm in Putrajaya today.
Previously, Mohd Zuki was criticised for not inviting Chow and other state leads from Pakatan Harapan-ruled states to attend the previous meeting.
"First, I urge the federal government to impose stricter enforcement on the operations of the factories during this period of the movement control order.
"This is because the manufacturing industry is one of the main industries for Penang, without full details, many are still confused by the closure guidelines and exceptions of factory closures," Chow said via Facebook Live today.
"Second, I will ask the federal government to ensure that medical equipment is adequate for hospitals and government clinics in Penang.
"Third, I will raise the issue of difficulty in obtaining face masks, thermometers, sanitisers and other safety equipment needed by both private and public medical practitioners," he added.
Chow said for face masks, he would recommend that the federal government impose export quotas and subsidies on local manufacturers so that production can meet domestic demand.
At the same time, he would also request that the federal government supply these goods to all state governments throughout the country for distribution to those in need.
"Fourth, I will obtain the state government's application status on the allocation of RM30 million from the economic stimulus package," he said.
To combat Covid-19, former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng had prepared the stimulus package which was announced by then Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Feb 27.
"We will put aside our differences and work together with the federal government to fight Covid-19," Chow vowed.
