UEC recognition must adhere to education policy - Huazong agrees with PM
The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) has concurred with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin that the recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) must be resolved according to the national education policy.

The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) has concurred with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin that the recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) must be resolved according to the national education policy.
In a statement today, Huazong president Goh Tian Chuan (above) said all parties must adhere to the policy and national conditions in resolving the long-pending issue related to UEC.
"As said by the prime minister, the government (Muhyiddin) did not announce that it recognised the UEC," he said.
He was responding to Muhyiddin who said UEC should adhere to the national education policy if it wants the matter to be considered for a resolution in the future.
Goh reiterated that Huazong did not mention that the government would recognise the UEC in its statement recently.
He thanked Muhyiddin, who clarified the matter via the Prime Minister's Office earlier today.
"The premier emphasised that UEC should adhere to the national education policy if it wants (the matter) to be considered for a resolution in the future.
"In this case, why came the contradictory part that the government was said to announce its recognition on UEC?" asked Goh.
He said it was hoped that Muhyiddin's clarification will be able to clear the air of the unnecessary confusion and could put a stop to the controversy.
