A senior narcotics officer at a district police headquarters in Terengganu has been remanded for six days to facilitate investigation into a bribery case.
The remand order was issued by the Kemaman Magistrate’s Court assistant registrar Masni Hajar Ghazali upon application by the MACC to enable further investigation under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
According to sources, the 30-year-old suspect was alleged to have solicited and accepted a bribe of RM30,000 as an inducement to cite as a minor offence of an individual arrested under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act for drug trafficking.
He was arrested at the MACC office in Kemaman, yesterday.
