Air Selangor announced that it has commenced the distribution flow of water from its treatment plants to homes in the Klang Valley beginning at noon today, after they were shut down due to river pollution since Sept 3.
It said the first phase of the distribution restoration will be to 667 areas. This makes up 51.6 percent of the total affected areas.
The restoration for the 667 areas will take place between noon today until Sept 7.
Under the first phase, the majority of affected areas within Kuala Selangor, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Selangor will see their water restored within the stipulated time period.
However, the majority of areas in Petaling and Klang will only see their water restored under phase two which is between Sept 7 and Sept 8.
Under phase two, another 36.3 percent of affected areas will see water supply restored.
The restoration under phase 3 will take place between Sept 8 and Sept 9 involving the remaining 12.1 percent.
The water restoration schedule is as follows:

Earlier today, Air Selangor in a separate statement said the water treatment plants began operation at 10.30pm last night but distribution could not commence immediately as the balancing reservoirs must first be filled.
This process was to take some 10 hours and was initially targeted to be completed at 8.30am today.
The restoration of water supply to different areas will be at varying times due to, among others, distance and elevation factors.
Air Selangor said it is trying its best to stabilise the water pressure to ensure a speedy recovery.
"Air Selangor estimates that full water restoration will happen by 6am on Sept 9," it said in the latest statement this afternoon.
The affected water treatment plants are the Sungai Selangor Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Rantau Panjang water treatment plants.
They were shut down after pollutants were released into Sungai Gong that flows into Sungai Sembah and in turn feeds off Sungai Selangor.
Authorities have shut down a factory in Rawang which they suspect is responsible for the pollution.
The incident on Sept 3 led to water cuts to 1,292 areas in the Klang Valley.
The complete water restoration schedule by area is as follows:
