Covid-19 infectivity rate above 1 in two states, nationwide at 0.85
The R-naught (R0) figure for new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia stood at 0.85 as of yesterday with two states recording a number of more than 1.
Perlis recorded a R-naught of 1.71. Cumulatively, the state had 251 Covid-19 cases, of which 40 percent were reported in the past 28 days.

Penang recorded a R-naught of 1.03. The state set a record of 337 new cases on March 4, while averaging 124 new cases during the same period.
The R-naught represents the reproduction number of Covid-19 infections - calculated over a period of 28 days.
A figure of more than 1 suggests that the number of new cases in a given region is rising.
