The brother of a deceased police detainee wants explanations as to how his sister was found dead at the Wangsa Maju police lockup on Tuesday night.

Monashofian Putra Zulkarnain Indra Putra ( right ), 44, lodged a report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters yesterday demanding an investigation into her death.

According to the police, Samiyaty Indrayani died at 11.30pm in her cell and has been classified as a case of sudden death.

The mother of five was arrested at her home on Sunday in Ulu Klang on alleged drug-related charges.

In Monashofian's police report, he urged the police to probe, among others:

Why did a police officer send him a text message about Samiyaty's 'serious' condition but did not send her to the hospital

Why a doctor only arrived at the Wangsa Maju station on the night of her death, two-and-a-half hours after

Why were there bruises on the eyes, neck and legs, of Samiyaty's body

Decision of the police to publicly state that she was caught on drug possession when she had not been proven guilty in court

According to New Straits Times today, Monashofian received the text message from a policeman at 9pm during the night of the incident.

The pathologist's report states that Samiyati died of a stroke and suffered from perforated gastric ulcer.
