Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was finally fined for violating the Covid-19 lockdown standard operating procedure (SOP) by going on a test drive.

He was outed after a woman spotted him test-driving a pick-up truck at a Ford dealership in Juru Auto City, Penang on June 5, and recorded a video.

Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Abdul Jalil Hassan confirmed that a compound was issued against the PAS lawmaker.

“We have sent the compound to that person (Sanusi) as instructed by the prosecutor’s office," he was quoted as saying by Free Malaysia Today.

Sanusi had said he did not drive the vehicle but it was the salesperson who had driven him.

The whistleblower later complained about being harassed for outing Sanusi.

The police did not disclose the quantum of the fine but said Sanusi has the option to pay the compound or fight the matter in court.
