DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang has voiced support in principle for a reforms-based confidence and supply agreement (CSA) with the government in order to set politics aside and focus on combatting Covid-19.

"Reducing the Covid-19 cases to first triple-digit and then double-digit figures and reduce the Covid-19 deaths to first double-digit and then single-digit figures is of the most paramount and critical importance.
"All Malaysians, irrespective of race, religion, region, or politics must be united on this national endeavour.
"This is why I support in principle Pakatan Harapan and the opposition reaching a confidence-supply-reform agreement with the government so that we put politics aside for 12-18 months and all Malaysians focus on winning the war against the Covid-19 pandemic, return the country to normality, and embark on economic and national recovery," he said in a statement this morning.
However, Lim warned that the reforms CSA must be a meaningful agreement, not a hollow document.
While newly minted Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has no intention to form a unity government, he has made overtures to the opposition to foster better cooperation.
Among others, Ismail has invited the opposition to be part of a National Recovery Council.
He also signed a joint statement with the top leaders of Harapan vowing to strengthen Parliament.
There have been calls for Ismail to also deliver reforms promised by his predecessor Muhyiddin Yassin.
This includes enacting an anti-hopping law and Undi18 through the amendment of Article 119(1) of the Federal Constitution for those aged 18 and above to vote and also to impose term limits on the post of prime minister.
