CIDB to operate PPV for Klang Valley migrant workers from Sept 27

Migrant workers in the Klang Valley who have yet to receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine can now do so at the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) convention centre in Kuala Lumpur from Sept 27 to Oct 6.

The Covid-19 Immunisation Taskforce (CITF) in a statement said workers who register online or walk into the CIDB PPV, Jalan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, will be required to pay RM90 for two doses of the vaccine.

The centre can administer 2,000 doses daily and will be open from 9am to 6pm.

CITF said workers are encouraged to register online for a smoother process.

"After online registration and payment are done, they (the workers) will be given an appointment date through email and/or SMS.

"For those who did not register online but walk into the CIDB PPV, payment can be done on-site, subject to availabilities on that day," it added. 

Each migrant worker who goes to the PPV must bring their passport or other identification documents, a smartphone, and proof they are working in the Klang Valley.

For employers, CITF said those who send more than 10 workers a day must assign a company representative to accompany them.

Employers are also responsible to ensure their workers understood all the processes and necessary documents to be filled, for example, the digital consent form, to facilitate the vaccination process.

CITF said this initiative was in line with the government's efforts to find groups left out from receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
