COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 5,162 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,546,309.

The fresh infections were more than the number of Covid-19 patients who recovered, which totalled 5,019. This is expected to contribute to a rise in the number of active cases.

  • Patients in ICU: 524
  • Intubated: 265

As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients (including suspected ones) in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 5.4 percent lower compared to a week ago.

Those who require intubation have also declined by 2.6 percent from a week ago.

Nationally, hospital admissions have been on the rise, increasing by 6.9 percent in the last seven days compared to the preceding week.

The rise was largely contributed by Kuala Lumpur (+134.4 percent), Malacca (+48.6 percent), Putrajaya (+32.8 percent), Perak (+20.2 percent), Kedah (+20.2 percent), Johor (+12.8 percent) and Negeri Sembilan (+12.6 percent) during the said period.
