Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC scored a historic win in the Malaysia Cup final last night after defeating defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) 2-0, putting an end to its 32-year title drought.
Though delighted with the outcome, Federal Territories Minister Shahidan Kassim, however, appeared to be slighted for not being invited onto the field at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
"I attended the match between KL City and JDT. KL City champion. Congratulations.
"The announcer did not invite me onto the field. The announcer did not mention my name...SOKAY," he said in a Facebook posting.
Regardless of the snub, Shahidan promised to reward the players for their performance.
In a related development, Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar Musa, who is also KL City FC president, irked supporters with his antics.
This is after Annuar took the trophy from KL City's Brazilian import Paulo Josue to lift it for a few seconds himself.
A check on his Twitter revealed that the minister came under fire over the incident.

Another report stated that KL City supporters were also not pleased with Annuar's move to invite drummers from Kelantan to the stadium to support the team.
The minister was the former president of the Kelantan FA.
