Graphic designer Fahmi Reza is set to be charged again in court over an online posting, this time on Thursday this week.
The street artist revealed this in a posting on his Twitter account late yesterday afternoon, whereby he remarked that it is “two chargings at court in one month”.
Back on Feb 8 this year, before the Kuala Lumpur Sessions (Cyber) Court, Fahmi was charged over an alleged obscene online posting last year that targeted a minister.
The outspoken activist’s counsel Rajsurian Pillai also confirmed that his client would face a new charge before the Kuala Lumpur Sessions (Cyber) Court on Thursday this week.
“Thursday, 9am, at KL Court,” the lawyer said.
However, Rajsurian declined to reveal for which posting the new charge against Fahmi is about.
The outspoken activist on socio-political issues has had numerous run-ins with authorities in the past, among them being over a 2016 clown caricature of then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
As recently as Jan 26 this year, Bernama reported that Fahmi was called to Bukit Aman to assist in investigations in connection with a social media post that allegedly depicted an edited image of the Pahang Coat of Arms with the words “House of Balak”.
