A senior police officer who was serving at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters has died after he allegedly shot himself today.
Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said they received an emergency call this afternoon about a man who had shot himself with a firearm weapon at a house in Kuala Lumpur.
“Investigations at the scene found that the 35-year-old victim is a senior police officer currently serving at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
“It is believed, based on the results of early investigations, that the victim had shot himself in the head with a pistol.
“An ambulance arrived at the scene and the medical officer on duty had confirmed the death of the victim at 3.59pm,” Beh said in a statement today.
The cause of the incident has not been identified and is still under investigation, he added.
As of now, this case has been classified as sudden death.
